The Prym dressmaker’s wax comes in a practical two-piece plastic storage box. Pulling thread through the grooves, coats it with a fine layer of wax giving it flexibility and stability which helps the thread slide smoothly through material and reduces fraying, knotting and twisting. If you haven't used it before, give it a try. We find it really great for hand quilting. It is also great for stiff zips, just give the zip teeth a rub with the wax. In fact is has universal use and also works great on jammed drawers!
